Summer Days

Wow the summer is going fast and we haven't seen too much of it =(

Update on the Fuzzballs!

Tinkerbell unfortunately was rushed into the vets on Monday evening with calcium deficiency. It was very traumatic for all of us, and we are currently investigating why this has happened and also what we can do to prevent it in the future.

Her kittens as you can see below are now weaned!! Yay! They still have a drink of milk from time to time but that will be stopping over the weekend. Tinky needs a break!

Oprah is due on the 31st this weekend we are having a photofest of everyone and she will be included!!!!

Princess, for her it has been 3 weeks now since mating and so far I can't notice any difference... I am hoping this 4th week will now tell us either way if chihuahua puppies are on the way!!

Here is our little friend Mack =) he lives over the road and is uber cute. He also likes eating cameras! =)

Dirty Weekend Away

Someone had a dirty weekend away!! So exhausting she spent all day Sunday like this!! His name is Frodo and come September we we could be hearing the clip clop of tiny chihuahua feet!!

They still spend most of their time sleeping, crying and feeding but generally plotting how to wreak the most havoc on the rest of the unsuspecting household!

6.3 miles

Yesterday we walked 6.3 miles!! Princess did lots better than me. She much preferred it than the beach

Kitten Fairy Arrived!!

Yesterday afternoon we had some new arrivals!! Tinky had 5 little ones, 3 boys and 2 girls, 2 reds and 3 creams! We are thrilled to bits! One of our red boys is a little on the small side and a bit weak but we are keeping our fingers crossed!

An Unpleasant Experience

Wow, 5 days since my last post!!

Just so you know, my latest obsession is English Bulldogs - I want one, just need Kevin to realise he does!

Well we had peeps over to visit our kittens at the weekend! A lovely lady called Sharon has decided she'd like to take Gandalf and Donut, just waiting to hear now what their new names are.

We spent Saturday in Whitby and I walked up 199 steps yippee and Sunday we went to the beach once our visitors had gone home.

Saturday night I had a most unpleasant experience, some bozo thought he could pick Princess up to about knee level and drop her down! The worst of it was she was on the lead and at the other end was my 6yr old god-daughter! A very volatile screeching at him followed to say the least, he definately had his tail between his legs that night!!

Making My Own Raw!

I have decided to start grinding my own raw food for the cats plus chihuahua!!

I knew when I embarked on this raw feeding malarky this day would come. YAY!

Prinny to be fair is on whole prey but she still needs more variety to her diet, she will only eat chicken wings and chicken legs, she refused oxtail which I was disappointed about

After reading Canine Mafioso's post this morning it has spurred me on!

So roll on Payday at the end of the month when I buy my new meat grinder and at the moment I think I am going with

I know just need to decide what combinations I am going to mix up! I think I am going to go with

Salmon and chicken

Trout and Turkey

Chicken and Chicken Liver

Turkey

Turkey and Chicken Livers

I am big on taurine but my cats will get that once a week. My head is buzzing with possible combinations

I am also giving mine tinned fish in the form of either pilchards, mackeral or sardine in tomato sauce or brine but they get this on a Friday (Fish Friday) this will not be mixed in with the mince.

Hopefully they will all start eating chicken wings whole which will be a lot easier I will still need the meat grinder though for kittens as they will be weaned onto mince.

Lazy Sunday

Prinny hasn't had a walk since Friday.... but we are taking her tonight promise

We did get the blinds up tho! With the help of the parents!

And the kittens have done little else but chill... with a bit of poop and food thrown in

Yes Yes Yes I can eat something on this god awful diet!! Cambridge have a mix a mousse option

So far I have tried the butterscotch shake as a mousse and it was yummy but the fruits of the forest one is definately better as a shake

Gandalf is also getting the hang of this eating malarky too raw chicken mince and pilchards in brine for tea for everyone! I find the kittens eat more when there is a bit of fish involved, every Friday in this house is Fish Friday for the cats! They have any of the following, mackeral, sardines or pilchards in either tomato sauce or brine

They actually managed to eat some food while mum was busy eating hers

And finally I thought I'd include Chaz (Kevs mum and dads cockatiel) in todays blog we are looking after him while they are away and Kev finally cleaned him out today hehe He's a cute little guy

A Week Of No Sleep

Has taken its toll! Spent most of this afternoon crying into my coffee..... it was a welcome change to walk into the big fat fuzzballs screaming for dinner, they are all so supportive

Raw chicken and chicken wings were on the menu and oxtail for Prinny who rebuffed this meal worthy of kings table so I had to give her some chicken mince lest she starve!

Spoilt little madam!

We had a brilliant walk up the woods though I am soooo glad I kicked the evil weed I'd of never been able to walk that far before and its all good as it contribute to the weightloss! I lost 8lbs in my first week on the Cambridge here's to another 8lbs next week.

We've started cutting back the time MK spends with the kittens, this is for a variety of reasons...

a) they need to start becoming properly weaned

b) we don't want her to turn them into the devils spawn and evil lifestyle she embraces

c) I can't think of anymore at the moment but when I decided this we had a ton of good reasons!

Gandalf took the emancipation quite well

Tinkerbell is getting bigger by the moment, not long now till the 14th and her expected due date!!
I am sooooo annoyed with Holland and Barratt and am never and I MEAN NEVER ordering from them again! They still haven't delivered my order of raspberry tea leaf capsule to prepare Tinks womb so she can shell her little kittens like peas! Trust me it works!

Oprah is also back from the Heathrose Cattery after her roll in the hay with their lovely boy, fingers crossed she "pinks up" in the next few weeks!

Carbs Are The Root Of All Evil

I am now on day 6 of the Cambridge Diet... it hasn't been plain sailing due to the copious amounts of parmesan that flung themselves down my neck not to mention the boiled eggs and mayonaisse I swear appeared out of nowhere!!
Weigh in tomorrow I am not holding out much hope... we can only wait and see! Marathon beach walk tonight with Prinny and Kev and possibly my friend SJ! Really putting myself into it!

For those of you who aren't too sure what a parmesan is its a North East of England take out delicacy! Its street name is "PARMO" and its obligatory after a night on the tiles! Not that I'd been on the tiles
It also comes with chips (which I did not eat) Salad and a vast amount of garlic sauce

Beachy Bliss!

Spent 2 whole days at the beach.

Highlights were giving Prinny her first swimming lesson - it was sink or swim time and quite frankly it was a bit of both
Lows were Kevin taking me "the easy" way back to the car! After whinging crying and complaining all the way (that was Prinny not me ;-) ) I have decided to do it again tonight or tomorrow night! Ha!

This is little Ciego born the 28/02/2009. He is MK's son and was born on Kev's birthday so I am not likely to forget this litters birthday... or am I?? We nearly lost Ciego when he was 4 days old he got so severly dehydrated and because of this we think he lost his sight... which watch this space! Because I think he has regained some of it or can partially see if not fully! We will soon find out!

This is Donut, the only girl in the litter. She looks after Ciego constantly and is basically a little angel. Good quiet and caring! Donut was named by our good friend Sarah-Jane!

The last of the bunch is Gandalf named by Kev's mum. He is one to watch very independent, thinks he knows it all and Oooozing the cute factor!!

Miranda is Tinks daughter and a spoilt bratty teenager at all times! She gets away with it thought because she is so damn cute!

Rhubarb our little semi free ranger! Cute as a button and not a bit of trouble I am debating getting Rhubarb a friend... but we shall see!

Piccies

Last night Princess had a chicken wing for supper and the Fuzzballs all had turkey mince mixed with pilchards and tomato sauce. MK's kittens we are weaning had the same with evaporated milk drizzled on the top.

I've no idea what everyone is getting for tea tonight as I've forgotten to defrost mince so I will need to pay the butcher a visit who I am planning on ringing anyway today as Mary from Canine Mafiosos has given me some brilliant tips on what to feed Princess so I am going to try them out on the fuzzballs too.

I've included a piccy of Oprah as a kitten today, I love this piccy they grow up so quickly! Oprah is visiting her boyfriend at the moment and should be having babies of her own at the end of July.

Big Fat Fuzzballs

Woohoo my first post and first kept memory apart from the disarray of photos I have of my fat guys!
Well I need to come to grips with how to work this ole thing and how to upload me piccies etc!

There are 6 fat fuzzballs in the persian powerhouse! Starting off with our persian neuter Chilli, then Red the resident stud. Miss Kitty the evil one who does nothing but traumatize our inhabitants, Oprah MK's long suffering daughter. Tinkerbells the household sweetheart and Miranda the teenage terror.

We also have a rabbit called Rhubarb. another ball of fuzz we got out of the paper and has taken over the back garden and a chihuahua called Princess aka Prinny who is our angel.
